Why Google Places Should Be Your Best Friend
If you have a business with a physical address, the local community needs to know about it! Google has a free feature to list your business locally. Depending on your rank on google, this may be the first impression your business has. Several of my SEO client’s get the majority of their calls directly from Google Maps! Another perk is that you may track keywords your potential clients are searching for and their location, all for free.
Here are the steps to make your listing:
1. Click Here
2. Login to your gmail account, or create one
3. Set up your listing with a free gmail account!
*Be sure to post your location, phone number, pictures, coupons, a brief description and any other pertinent information for your business. Make sure that your business is not already listed. If so, you may claim the listing as the owner and begin to edit your listing. A duplicate listing can sometimes give rise to google banning your site, so this is very important! To do this, you simply search for your business name in google. After you have entered your information, Google will want to confirm ownership. You may do this by either a PIN sent via Postcard (very old school, Google), or phone verification.
